π The 7 Chakras
A brief intro to the chakra system used in Reiki
The seven energy centers, or chakras, can be incorporated with the teachings of Reiki passed down by Master Usui. These centers are believed to regulate the flow of energy throughout the body and spirit.
⨔Each and every being has an innate ability to heal as a gift from the gods” -Master Mikao Usui
There are seven main chakras in this system:

- Root Chakra
- Sacral Chakra
- Solar Plexus Chakra
- Heart Chakra
- Throat Chakra
- Third Eye Chakra
- Crown Chakra
The Root Chakra begins at the base of the spine and they ascend in order up to the Crown Chakra at the top of the head.
π We have energy centers all over our bodies and even in our energy field β but weβre focusing on these seven for now.
βοΈ Balanced, Overactive, Underactive or Blocked?
Each chakra can be in a state of:
- Balanced: Harmonious energy flow
- Underactive: Sluggish or reduced energy
- Overactive: Excessive or overwhelming energy
- Blocked: Energy is stagnant or stuck
Some Reiki teachers describe chakras as spinning wheels, moving clockwise or counterclockwise β too fast, too slow, or stopped altogether. That analogy might resonate with you, or not β and thatβs okay. The concept is meant to help you visualize and connect with your energy.

𧩠The Chakra System Works as a Whole
Each chakra is like a gear in a larger machine. When one is stuck, it can throw the others off balance too.
βJust like the strings on a guitar, each energy center needs to be in tune for the whole to play in harmony.β
πIts important to check in with yourself to keep everything flowing in rhythm.
The chakra system offers a powerful lens through which to understand your energy, emotions, and overall well-being. While this is just a brief introduction to the seven chakras, each center holds its own deep wisdom and healing potential. Remember, balance doesnβt mean perfection β it means awareness and care. As you explore more about each chakra in future posts, keep an open heart and mind. Your energy tells a story β and now, youβre learning to listen. β¨
π Journal Prompt:
βWhich chakra feels most out of balance for me right now β and why?β
Take a moment to reflect on your body, your emotions, and any patterns youβve been experiencing. Then write freely:
- What symptoms or signs made you think of this chakra?
- What might be contributing to the imbalance?
- What are some small things you could do to support this energy center?
π‘ Hint: Trust your intuition β even if youβre not 100% sure, your inner knowing often leads you where you need to look.
