intuition and mediumship

Intuition and mediumship may feel mysterious, but at its heart it is about listening. The bridge between you and Spirit is your intuition. Without it, mediumship feels confusing. With it, Spirit communication becomes natural and clear.

And if you’re reading this right now, chances are you’ve already felt your intuition at work. Maybe you knew who was calling before you picked up the phone. Maybe you sensed a shift in the room without anyone saying a word. That is intuition and it’s also the doorway Spirit uses when you begin exploring mediumship.

What Is Intuition in Mediumship?

Intuition is your inner guidance system. It shows up as a gut feeling, a quick thought, or a sense you can’t quite explain. Mediumship uses this same system. The difference is that, instead of only receiving messages from your higher self, you’re also receiving from Spirit.

Think of intuition as the doorway. Mediumship begins when you step through that doorway and allow Spirit to use your intuitive senses, the clairs, to connect with you.

Why Intuition Comes First in Mediumship

A question I hear often is: “How do I know if it’s Spirit or just my imagination?” Maybe you’ve wondered that yourself. The truth is, Spirit often communicates through the same channels as your intuition — feelings, images, sounds, and subtle body sensations.

So if you’ve ever doubted yourself, you’re not alone. That doubt is actually a good sign. It means you’re aware enough to notice the difference, and with practice, you’ll learn to feel when it’s intuition and when it’s Spirit stepping in.

6 Exercises to Connect Intuition and Mediumship

1. First Thought Practice

Ask yourself a simple yes-or-no question and notice your first reaction. Did your body feel lighter or heavier? Did an image or word pop up? Intuition and Spirit both speak through these quick impressions.

(If you’re reading this and trying it right now, don’t overthink it. Your first impression counts.)

2. Reading Energy in People

When you meet someone new, pause and ask: How does their energy feel? Write down your impressions. Later, compare your notes with what you learn. This strengthens your clairsentience (clear feeling), a skill that Spirit often uses to connect.

3. Build a Symbol Journal

Keep track of symbols, numbers, or images that show up in your day. Over time, you’ll see patterns. Spirit often uses symbols to send messages, and building your personal symbol dictionary makes those messages clearer.

4. Sitting in Stillness

Set aside five to ten minutes daily to sit quietly. Focus on your breath and invite Spirit to step closer. Pay attention to any sensations, images, or words. Stillness allows both your intuition and mediumship to sharpen.

(And if five minutes feels impossible, try two. The point is consistency, not perfection.)

5. Writing with Spirit

Take a notebook and write a question at the top of the page: What do I need to know today? Relax, then allow words to flow without editing. Automatic or intuitive writing helps you connect with your inner guidance and open to Spirit communication.

6. Validate Your Nudges

When you get an intuitive nudge, like the urge to call someone, follow it. Reflect afterward on what happened. Each time you confirm your intuition, you build trust. Spirit often works through these nudges to guide you.

Building Trust in Intuition and Mediumship

Mediumship is not about perfection. It is about showing up, practicing, and building trust in your inner voice. Every time you follow your intuition and see results, you strengthen your connection with Spirit.

And here’s the part I want you to really take in: your intuition is not separate from mediumship. It’s the foundation. When you learn to trust yourself, you naturally learn to trust Spirit. So if you’ve been doubting whether you can do this, consider this your reminder that you already can.

Mantra

My intuition is my guide. Through it, I connect with Spirit with trust and clarity.

Journal Prompt

Think of a time when your intuition spoke clearly and you followed it. How did it feel in your body before you acted? Now imagine Spirit using that same pathway to reach you. Write about how trusting your intuition could open the door to mediumship.
